Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh presided over a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the expansion of Samih Darwazah Cancer Center at Al-Bashir Hospital, which was completed by Hemtna Charitable Association, Ammon News reported.
The expansion project comprised two chemotherapy rooms, three outpatient clinics, administrative and service facilities, a reception hall for patients, and a pre-admission examination clinic, with a total area of 650sq.m., at a cost of JD500,000.
The project provides integrated care for cancer patients at Bashir, in terms of daily care service, chemotherapy, and outpatient services. This increases the capacity of Samih Darwazah Oncology Center, serving larger numbers of cancer patients and meeting their treatment needs.
With the expansion completed, the number of beds in Samih Darwazah Oncology Center reached 46, including hospitalized cases and daily chemotherapy beds.
The ceremony was attended by Minister of Health Firas Al-Hawari, project advocates, and several doctors supervising Samih Darwazah Oncology Center from the King Hussein Cancer Center and Bashir Hospital.
