After working over 20 years in the pharmaceutical and medical industry, I feel very privileged to be writing this message as the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Himmetna.

Over the last several years, as Secretary General of the Patient Protection Coalition, I have paid numerous visits to the public hospitals and medical centers throughout Jordan. I personally witnessed their grim dilapidated status in terms of hygiene, service offering to patients, quality of healthcare services, infrastructure, medical equipment, furniture and more. What caught my attention was the young cancer patient who was so desperate he declared his urge to perish owing to his service maltreatment and poor condition of his room. It was at this point that I was inspired to offer a voice to those who were not being heard and were silently suffering. I made a vow to rehabilitate and renovate these medical institutions across the country and assist the underprivileged and marginalized population.

Moreover, the global spread of COVID-19 has had a profound impact on nearly every segment of life and has also sparked a rise in worldwide interest in various issues, such as sanitation, climate change, economic inequality, human rights and, most importantly, health. Following the COVID-19 pandemic and my personal visits to public health institutions, we were presented with an opportunity to continue with Himmetna . And now more than ever, it is crucial to enhance the local healthcare sector to enable medical centers to combat existing and future pandemics and better serve the local population.

Additionally, it was abundantly clear to the Himmetna team that the public was in need of reclaiming their rights not just as patients but as humans, too. We declared our commitment to support and create a safe quality environment for all patients, particularly the disadvantaged, to receive the proper healthcare services that they deserve and receive the best medical treatment in dignity. Ultimately, we aspired to bring humanity to the public medical sector and have never been more confident in completing our mission. 

Finally, we seek to serve as a role model and inspire those volunteers who wish to establish their own ventures or campaigns for the benefit of humankind. After all, you are Himmetna. We are all Himmetna.
